How to fabricate an artificial spider silk

With these properties, spider silk would be useful in industries such as transportation and textiles, thus motivating research into the properties of natural silk and the production of artificial silk. In this activity and presentation, we will show that advanced microscopy can be used to visualize the inner structure of silk fibres of the orb-web weaving spider as well as artificially fabricated spider silk. Furthermore, we will present how to efficiently 3D print an artificial silk with the help of LEGO building blocks.
