Entry requirements

To qualify for admission, you must have a relevant degree on a Bachelor's level. You are qualified for admission if you hold one of the following degrees:

  • BSc in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology from University of Southern Denmark or Aalborg University
  • BSc in Environmental Science from Aalborg University
  • BSc in Environmental Engineering from Technical University of Denmark 
  • BSc in Biology from University of Copenhagen, University of Southern Denmark, Aarhus University or Aalborg University 
  • BSc in Physics and Technology from University of Southern Denmark or Aalborg University 
  • BSc in Chemistry from University of Southern Denmark, University of Copenhagen, Roskilde University, Aalborg University or Aarhus University 
  • BSc in Mechatronics from University of Southern Denmark 
  • BSc in Energy Systems from University of Southern Denmark 
  • BSc in Engineering, Innovation and Business from University of Southern Denmark
  • BSc in Product Development and Innovation from University of Southern Denmark 
  • BSc in Civil Engineering from University of Southern Denmark 
  • BSc in Environmental Biology from Roskilde University 
  • BSc in Life Science and Technology from Technical University of Denmark 
  • BSc in Biotechnology from University of Copenhagen, Aarhus University or Aalborg University 
  • BSc in Mathematics from University of Copenhagen, University of Southern Denmark, Aarhus University or Aalborg University 
  • BEng in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology from University of Southern Denmark, Aalborg University or Technical University of Denmark 
  • BEng in Electronics from University of Southern Denmark, Aarhus University or Aalborg University 
  • BEng in Mechatronics from University of Southern Denmark 
  • BEng in Integrated Design from University of Southern Denmark 
  • BEng in Production from University of Southern Denmark or Technical University of Denmark 

You can also apply if you hold another Bachelor’s degree within Science or Engineering. To be considered, your degree must include a minimum of:

  • 10 ECTS in Mathematics 
  • 5 ECTS in Statistics 

Once you have applied, the faculty will assess the relevance of your degree.

Language requirements

The programme is taught in English. If your Bachelor's Degree is not from SDU,  you are required to submit proof of your proficiency in English. See the English language requirements.

Selection criteria

There is a limited number of study places in the programme. If there are more qualified applicants than study places, the following criteria are used for the selection of applicants  - the Grade point average of your qualifying degree. If the degree is not finished at the time of application an average is calculated based on the courses passed so far.

As a bachelor's student at SDU, you can apply for permission to follow up to 30 ECTS Master's level courses even though you have yet to complete your Bachelor's degree.

You can be granted permission if you have the necessary academic qualifications. The progression of your Bachelor’s programme is crucial to the outcome of your application.

Please acquaint yourself with the rules before you apply for permission since you must indicate in your application whether you fulfil the conditions or not. Read more here.

Have you completed a Master's programme?

If you've already obtained a Master's degree, you can only be admitted to a new programme if there are vacant study places in the programme.
