What does the programme lead to?
In research and development, you have the opportunity as an organic or inorganic chemist to join the production of new molecules with pharmaco-chemical potential.
Your knowledge about environmental chemistry allows you to help investigate where pollution originates and with material chemistry, you can help develop new materials for fuel cells.
With experience in spectroscopy or mass spectrometry, you can, like a ”detective”, help discover which compounds are present in a sample, for instance a doping analysis, or how molecules are constructed.
Finally, your knowledge about theoretical chemistry can be used to construct or utilise computer models of chemical reactions or the properties of molecules. You can also work with quality assurance, sales or consulting within the industry.
In the public sector, you can find employment as a teacher at the high school or college levels, in administration or advisory positions.
