Teaching and learning at the University of Southern Denmark builds on a principle of active learning and teaching. You become part of a committed learning community and we expect you to actively participate,be proactive, curious and ready to learn.

We strive to teach in ways that generate in-depth learning and motivate students to participate actively in the learning activities. We also strive to ensure alignment between learning objectives, teaching methods, and forms of examination as well as variation among these. Each course typically consists of three lessons per week to support your independent learning activities. The lessons consist of lectures, seminars, projects and case studies. For project work, seminars and Master’s thesis, supervision is available.

We encourage students to form study groups across nationalities and other differences in their background to stimulate learning and develop skills for cooperation in multicultural and diverse teams.

The teaching form is a mix of traditional lectures, project assignments and assignments in groups or individually, which will prepare you for the many possibilities at SDU and your professional career afterwards.

As something special, you will find multiple study programmes under the same roof. Therefor you will find a casual atmosphere and a living social study environment.

We are proud of the internationalization you will find at our campuses. Each year we are admitting a large portion of international students, and we are focused on attracting educators and researchers from the whole world. This creates an exciting environment and promotes diversity, and we hope you will enjoy the many possibilities you find at our campuses and contribute to the SDU-culture.
