Organisation

Research at the National Institute of Public Health is organised into two research departments that together comprise nine research groups.

The institute’s public-sector services and teaching are coordinated and provided professionally across the research departments.

Management of the NIPH on a day-to-day basis is undertaken by the director and management group. The institute's management, research departments and the shared core tasks are supported by the Secretariat, including a Communications Department.

The NIPH is a department within the Faculty of Health Sciences at SDU.

As a former sector research institute, the NIPH retains public sector tasks for the Danish Ministry of Health, which are governed in a framework agreement with annual goals and performance requirements.

The NIPH has an advisory board that consists of representatives from the world of research and key national actors in the field of public health. The purpose of the advisory committee is to provide advice to the NIPH’s management regarding the institute's activities, organisation, strategy and development within the four core tasks: research, public services, education and communication.
