The thesis focuses on the prospects of implementing Stiesdal Thermal Battery and Adiabatic Compressed Air Energy Storage in Denmark as well as comparing the two technologies relative to other prominent storage technologies on technical and economical parameters.

The study can conclude that the Stiesdal Thermal Battery technology performs better on a variety of parameters which include usage of waste heat as district heating, requirements to act as frequency control reserve and lower capital expenditures.
