Exploratory funds for workshops

Department of Environmental and Business Economics, University of Southern Denmark has received funding for the Arctic research from:

The Nordic Council of Ministers' Arctic Co-operation Programme 2012-2014 - Nordregio, Nordic Centre for Spatial Development

The Research Council of Norway, Nordisk samarbeidsnemd for humanistisk og samfunnsvitenskapelig forskning, NOS-HS: In 2013 Niels Vestergaard received 210.000 NOK from NOS-HS. The primary purpose of the project Marine Ressource Governance in the Arctic is to identify and provide guidance in answering the main governance challenges of the marine living resources in the Arctic Ocean with reduced ice presence.

NordForsk, The Norwegian Research Council (NRC ) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) has in 2015 granted Brooks Kaiser and Niels Vestergaard from the Department of Environmental and Business Economics 900.000 DKK to the project 'Bioeconomic analysis of Arctic Marine Resource Governance and Policy'. The project is part of a total grant of over six million kroner. The grant goes to examine the methods and adjustments as necessary to ensure a sustainable bio-economy in the Arctic.
