Research areas
Biodemography
We focus on analyses of the distribution of lifespans for humans and across the tree of life and with increased emphasis on conservation demography of endangered species.
Wellbeing and survival of oldest old
Continued progress in increasing life expectancy and improving health will increasingly depend on trends after age 90 and in the longer run after age 100.
Method development for ageing research
We develop novel demographic models and statistical methods to explore the causes and consequences of the age-specific trajectories of survival across the tree of life.
Database development
Much of CPop's research work relies on extensive databases. Our researchers contribute to the management and development of several databases in both human and non-human demography.
