Community economies as local development dynamo in rural areas

The project looks at a number of recent examples of citizen-driven community economies around grocery stores. The project focuses in particular on the process leading to the establishment of the new local initiatives and the conditions that ensure their maintenance and continued development in terms of co-ownership and community involvement.

The project is part of the Danish Centre for Rural Research's other focus on rural finance and business development in rural areas.
