Nicolas Fatras attended Anylogic Conference 2021 (remotely)

PhD student Nicolas Fatras presented a simulation developed in the context of his PhD project at the online Anylogic Conference 2021. The simulation aims to encourage industrial consumers to participate in electricity markets by showing the financial and operational impacts of actively bidding in electricity markets. Such data-driven simulation approaches allow to more accurately evaluate the flexibility which industrial consumers are ready to provide to the electricity system.

The presented work combined the use of agent-based modelling and discrete event simulation to provide a realistic yet modular simulation framework applicable to different industrial and market context. The presented simulation applied this framework to an industrial meat cooling facility with cooling temperature flexibility in the Danish market context.
