ESGI – European Study Group with Industry 17 – 21 August 2015

ESGI 2015 is a unique opportunity for industry and researchers to meet and discuss real industrial problems with a mathematical aspect.

Math Experts and Industry in close collaboration
University of Southern Denmark is hosting the coming European Study Group with Industry (ESGI) from 17 to 21 August 2015. The purpose of ESGI is for researchers and industry to meet and work on concrete industrial mathematical problems.

A one week workshop
ESGI is a one week workshop, where industries present their mathematical issues. Researchers within mathematical modelling, physics and engineering work together in small groups in order to suggest solutions to the presented problems in question.

PhD Course – Modern Methods in Industrial Matemathics
Prior to the ESGI workshop University of Southern Denmark is organising a PhD course Modern Methods in Industrial Matemathics. The course is held from Thursday 13 – Saturday 15 August 2015. It is a 5 ECTS course and includes participation in the ESGI workshop the following week.

Target Group
ESGI is for PhD students and academics within math, modelling, physics and engineering and for companies which have concrete math related problems.

Participation
No fee for PhD students and academics.
Participating companies pay DKK 25.000.

Registration
Registration for ESGI and the PhD course via e-mail to Sanne Terp Nielsen – satn@mmmi.sdu.dk
