Special Collections Reading Room

Note: The research reading room is occupied due to TV filming on Friday 24 May at 10am- Noon.

Some of the library's materials are for use only in supervised reading rooms, including material printed before 1860. The use takes place at the Special Collections Reading Room in the reading room's normal opening hours, Monday - Friday 10 am. - 2 pm.

Inquiry is made by the front desk in the Library.

Materials from the vaults can only be accessed during the opening hours of the Special Collections Reading Room - or after special written agreement with the University Library. There will always be a library attendant present with the use of vault materials.

You will find the Special Collections Reading Room on the ground floor, to the left of the library's main entrance.

Researchers and other employees can also apply the University Library for a 24/7 access login to the Special Collections Reading Room via their employee card. Note that this login only gives access to the literature on the open shelves.

The Special Collections Reading Room is closed: All Saturdays and Sundays, The days before Easter,  Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday, Great Prayer Day and the friday after, Ascension Day, 2nd Pentecost Monday, Constitution Day, Autumn Holiday (Oct. 14th - Oct. 18th) Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, weekdays between Christmas and New Year, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. On the day of the University's annual celebration, the library´is closed.
