Rocío Valdebenito Malmros obtained her master’s degree from Universidad Austral de Chile, Valdivia, Chile. Her master thesis was made in collaboration with Felipe Barros group at Centro de Estudios Científicos (CECs), Valdivia, Chile, a non-profit, private corporation devoted to the development, promotion and diffusion of scientific research. During this time Rocío focused on brain metabolism related studies, specifically concerning FRET glucose, lactate and pyruvate nanosensors used in single cell imaging.

In 2015, she moved to Denmark and worked as a Research Assistant at Center for Translational Neuromedicine (CTN) in the Division of Cell and Gene Therapy, University of Copenhagen. During this period, she worked on the differentiation from Human Stem Cells to Glioma Tumor Progenitor Cells in order to study Cancer.

Rocío has collaborated on 7 ISI registered publications.

Within ADIPOSIGN Rocío is focusing on the study of microRNA’s network during obesity progression.
