SDU opretter Centre for Law, Sustainability & Justice // University of Southern Denmark establishes new centre

Den 1. september lancerer Juridisk Institut ny forskningssatsning // On 1 September, Department of Law launches new research initiative

(In English below)

The University of Southern Denmark wants to create value for and with society by working with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Department of Law at the university contributes to this agenda by establishing a new research initiative, the Centre for Law, Sustainability & Justice. The centre aims to examine, explore and challenge legal aspects and issues related to the SDGs. This endeavour will be undertaken with a broad approach to the role of law, regulation and governance in regard to sustainability.

The head of centre is professor, dr.scient.adm., PhD (law) Karin Buhmann who most recently held a position as a professor (wsr) at the Department for Management, Society & Communication at Copenhagen Business School. The new centre has appointed two postdocs and is currently in the process of recruiting additional junior researchers.

More information will be available on the centre’s website around 1 September 2021. The Centre for Law, Sustainability & Justice will be officially launched at an all-day event at the University of Southern Denmark on 10 November 2021.
