User Centred Design

User Centred Design (UCD) is an approach that starts with the end user rather than the actual product. User Centred Design invites the user to contribute knowledge and experience in the design process and supports a continuous dialogue between user and designer to products and services grounded in use practices.

At IT Product Design we draw on the Scandinavian tradition of user participation to experiment with new ways of involving users and new design processes.

You will be introduced to techniques of how to use video for user studies, how to design with users in workshops, how to move the design process out in the field, and how to create scenarios to develop the most successful products based on the practices of the people who use them.

You will learn to look at each design project with a new set of eyes, and armed with a toolbox of methods you will be able to creatively employ in any new situation.
