Starting credits

If you have studied in, but not completed another Danish programme on an equivalent level, you must apply to have courses from your previous programme transferred to be part of your new programme. This is called 'starting credits'. You will achieve a credit transfer if courses from your previous programme can substitute one or more courses in your new programme.

It is up to the Study Board of the relevant programme at SDU to assess whether any of your passed courses can be transferred.

When to apply for starting credits?

When you apply for admission, you must indicate in the application that you are studying or have studied in another higher education programme. If you are admitted to a programme at SDU, you will receive information on how to apply for a credit transfer, including what documents to provide.

Pre-assessment before you apply for admission

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a pre-assessment of how many credits can be transferred to your new programme.
