Career opportunities

With a degree in Energy Technology you will be a much valued specialist in companies and organisations involved in sustainable energy. Whether you choose to work in research, development or management, your voice will be heard when decisions are made on ways to produce and use energy in the future.

One of the great challenges you will consider is how to make high-technology solutions that ensure that the energy is used when it is there – e.g. through Smart Grid, which is an intelligent electricity network that enable communication between our products and the energy supply.

You could work in:

• the sector of district heating or electricity supply (wind turbines)
• Danish and international energy companies (electricity, gas and district heating)
• Danish and international distribution companies (wind turbines, fuel cells, power plants, Smart Grid communication, etc.)
• consulting or sales companies in environmental solutions
• consulting engineering companies with special skills in energy technology, environmental approvals and project management
• government administrations and private companies that manage authorisations, security policies and general energy, climate and environmental management.

Here you could, for example:

• design an energy plant for, for example, energy extraction or conversion
• participate in teams that develop, project, build or run all types of energy plants
• develop intelligent energy products such as Smart Grid communication
• provide a basis for decisions that shows that investment in the plants would be wise
• do research.
