Course of study

The master programme in MSc Cultural Sociology consists of 120 ECTS, corresponding to two years full-study.

Teaching method

All courses at MSc Cultural Sociology include activating lessons which means a combination of lectures with individual as well as group-based exercises, project work and presentations. The lectures will take place in quarters - two quarters each semester. Thus there will be 4 courses of studies each year. On each quarter there will be approximately 6 weeks of lectures with 12 hours of teaching every week.

As a student enrolled in the Master of Social Sciences in Cultural Sociology you will experience a dynamic and strong research environment where the sociological study of culture is deeply rooted and has strong departments to support it. Furthermore, you become part of an active and social student environment that mixes Danish and international students. The campus is located in Esbjerg, a city which is not only affordable, but also offers a range of activities and opportunities for students.

On the campus, there is a lot done to ensure that you as a student feel comfortable. Cultural Sociology is a master programme where students come with many different bachelor backgrounds. As only few students know each other, we seek to establish a great study environment by offering nice introduction days at the campus and by setting up study groups.
