Course of study

The master’s programme in MSc Cultural Sociology consists of 120 ECTS, corresponding to two years full-study. The programme is offered in English and we generally receive a high number of international students.

Teaching method

Most courses at the programme combine traditional lectures with student-centered teaching methods and problem-based learning. Thus, study activities include student presentations as well as project assignments that must be carried out in student groups or individually. In some courses, students must conduct their own mini-research projects.

The first 1 ½ years of the programme are structured as quarter semesters (two quarters per semester). A quarter consists of approximately 6 weeks of classes (8-10 hours per week) followed by exams. Read more about the courses offered.
