Full-degree students

Students studying on a full bachelor’s or master’s degree at SDU Sønderborg should apply for accommodation directly at the Sønderborg Accommodation Office, called Studiebolig Syd.

Please note that full-degree students are not guaranteed housing. You will apply under the same conditions as Danish students, and the rooms are offered on a first come, first served basis.

Full-degree students can apply for all types of room. The different options can be seen on Studiebolig’s website. The more rooms you apply for, the greater the chance you will receive an offer for the time the semester begins.
An offer of housing will be sent directly via email from Studiebolig Syd.

For questions, you should contact Studiebolig Syd.

Application process for exchange students

You should apply for housing soon after your application to SDU, even if you are not sure of being offered a place.

To be guaranteed Student Housing you must apply before the deadline:

  • September admission: 1 May
  • February admission: 1 November

You apply for Student Housing by filling out an online application form at sduhousing.sdu.dk.

You will not receive an offer of Student Housing until you have received your official acceptance letter from SDU.

Once you have been accepted to SDU, the SDU Accommodation Office will send your name and email to Studiebolig Syd.

They will contact you and ask you to complete an application on their website, so they have all the information needed to make an offer and a contract for you. It takes about 5 minutes to complete an application.

When you have done this, Studiebolig Syd will send you an offer of accommodation. You can expect to hear from Studiebolig Syd regarding an offer of accommodation from 15 June for the fall semester and 15 November for the spring semester.

In the email with the offer of Student Housing, you will find a link, which you use to accept or decline the offer.

Remember to accept the offer, sign the contract, and pay the deposit and first month’s rent before the deadlines specified by the Sønderborg Accommodation Office. If you do not, you will lose the accommodation, and they will not be able to offer you other accommodation.
