Companies worldwide need product developers with engineering competencies and business know-how. When companies employ entrepreneurial engineers with technical skills their products will have a better chance of becoming a success.
The bachelor degree enables you to work as a problem solver through the entire product development process. You can get a challenging career in innovative areas such as:

• Strategic marketing
• Global manufacturing
• Sales at an international level.
Combining technology and business know-how
The interdisciplinarity of the programme ensures that you become a market oriented engineer who is able to handle many different types of the products in which technology and business skills are combined.
You could, for example, work with:
• Advanced household products
• Health care products such as aids for the elderly or disabled
• New sports and playground products
• Industrial products.
The bachelor programme is a three-year programme and each semester has a theme such as e.g. Creativity and idea development and From concept to design. Read more about that under the structure of the programme. After the first three years you study for two years at master level to get the full MSc in Engineering degree. You could, for example, choose to work with value creation in products or in product development processes in a global context, or with the development of new products where you include users and customers along the way.
Project work and company problem solver
You become part of a project based and problem based study environment where you work in project groups. You and your fellow students:
• Are responsible for planning and carrying out the project
• Must work together and meet the deadlines
• Solve problems for companies
• Have access to dedicated space for project work.

Versatile career paths
With a degree in PDI you will have a range of job opportunities – in Denmark and abroad. Among other things, you could be employed as market research analyst, product planner, product developer, and project manager in design and manufacturing companies. You are able to work on all types of products, from iPods to wind turbines, either as a construction engineer or as the person who integrates the commercial and technological aspects.
Graduates who have completed this bachelor programme are entitled to use the title of Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering (Product Development and Innovation).
