Enzymes, fuel cells and biogas: the engineering programme in Chemistry and Biotechnolgy is about developing and manufacturing products in industry – anything from oil refineries to pharmaceutical plants.
With a degree in Chemistry and Biotechnology you will be qualified to:
- create technical solutions
- develop products and processes
- do research.
During your studies you will learn about:
- bio chemistry
- microbiology – i.e. chemical and bio chemical processes.
You will also improve your competencies in project work, team work, management and innovation. This will provide you with an academic knowledge which you will need in development, research and consultancy work.
The bachelor degree is a three-year programme and each semester has a theme such as, for example, Chemical Manufacturing and the Environment or Energy and Materials. Read more about the structure of the programme.
To get a full master of science in engineering degree you must study a two-year master degree on top of the three-year bachelor degree. The master programme allows you to dig into the subject areas that you find especially interesting.
Project work and solving problems for companies
You become part of a project based and problem based study environment where you work in project groups together with your fellow students.
In the project group you and your fellow students:
- are responsible for planning and carrying out the project
- will cooperate and meet the deadlines
- will solve problems for companies
- will have access to project room
In the sixth semester you will carry out your bachelor project – often in cooperation with a company.
Versatile career paths
With a degree in Chemistry and Biotechnology you will have a range of job opportunities – in Denmark and abroad. Among other things, you could work in development, production and quality control in chemical companies, in the food industry or the pharmaceutical industry, or at laboratories.
