The leap between research and the realisation of new products, methods and techniques is getting increasingly smaller. Therefore companies on the leading technological edge need engineers who can combine scientific and engineering skills such as optics, nanotechnology and electronics.
Subjects in physics and engineering
At the bachelor programme in Physics and Technology you will learn about:
• classical physics such as mechanics, thermodynamics, optics and acoustics
• modern physics such as quantum mechanics, material physics and nanophysics
• engineering subjects such as nanostructures, electronics, signal processing, sensors, data analysis and mathematics.
Moreover, you will get a profound knowledge of the most recent technologies; providing you with the best possible qualifications for work in development and/or research.
You will work with projects in the development of sensors using metallic nanostructures to enhance the light, optimising of exhaust boxes or concert halls through the modelling and simulation of sound fields, or the manufacturing of nanostructured materials with completely new characteristics.
The bachelor degree is a three-year programme on top of which you can study the two-year master programme. During the master programme it is possible to specialise in e.g. optics or nano technology.

Project work and solving problems for companies
You become part of a project based and problem based study environment where you work in project groups together with your fellow students.
In the project group you and your fellow students:
• are responsible for planning and carrying out t he project
• will cooperate and meet the deadlines
• will solve problems for companies
• will have access to project room
In the sixth semester you will carry out your bachelor project – often in cooperation with a company.
Versatile career paths
With a degree in Physics and Technology you will have a range of job opportunities – in Denmark and abroad. Your job opportunities depend on the academic profile you have chosen during the master programme, but you could work in, for example, the development of loudspeakers, hearing aids or acoustic measuring equipment, or at companies that develop optical or nanotechnological products.
It is also possible to continue your studies with a three-year research programme leading towards a PhD degree.
