Applications are invited at the Department for the Study of Culture in the Faculty of Humanities, University of Southern Denmark in Odense for a Postdoc position in Humanistic Aging Studies to take effect from Juni 1, 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The post doc will be attached to CPop - The SDU Interdisciplinary Center on Population Dynamics and will be a member of the Uses of Art and Literature research group at the Department for the Study of Culture in the Faculty of the Humanities. The Department for the Study of Culture carries out research, teaching and communication in Cultural studies, Education, Literature, Media Studies and Philosophy.

The selected candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary research team counting Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Health Sciences as well as Humanities and most of his/her research activity is expected to focus on interdisciplinary research to be published in interdisciplinary journals.
Applicants with projects in literary studies, media studies or cultural studies that can strengthen the research strategy and future development of the Humanities unit of CPop as well as the Uses of Art and Literature research group will be preferred.
The position involves research, teaching, supervision and communication, and participation in external collaboration. It also involves administration, as negotiated.
- A relevant PhD-degree in literary studies, media studies or cultural studies.
- A proven interest in the fundamentals of humanistic aging research.
- A detailed research plan.
Candidates should also have a strong interest in pursuing excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and in supervising students and researchers.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Please check links for more information about salary and taxation.
Employment as Postdoc is temporary (max. 4 years). Employment stops automatically by the end of the period. An upgrade of pedagogical qualifications is not part of the position. To qualify for the position you must have completed a PhD-degree by the application deadline.
