Postdoc in Experimental Biophysics

A postdoc position in experimental biophysics of membranes and membrane-bound proteins is available at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, SDU in the group of Associate Professor Adam Cohen Simonsen. Employment can take place from 1 June 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. Application deadline: 15 March 2019.

The successful candidate will work on a project focused on revealing mechanisms of plasma membrane repair and will be part of a highly interdisciplinary research collaboration involving theorists and experimental scientists.

We are seeking excellent applicants with a strong experimental background (PhD) in physics, biophysics, physical chemistry, nanoscience or a related discipline. Experience with advanced microscopy, in particular Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) is beneficial. The candidate should have good communication skills and be able to perform high-quality experimental research at the interface between physics and cell biology. The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art microscope facilities and a modern biophysics laboratory.

The postdoc position is for a term of two years with possible extension of one year. Candidates are requested to motivate their interest in the position and to include at least two letters of recommendation.
