Starting your own business

Odense

Starting your own business in Denmark is fairly straight-forward but of course there are some basic requirements that you need to be aware of. Therefore we advise you to contact the local “Erhvervscenter” in Odense. The place “Stjerneskibet” is a part of Odense municipality and helps people that would like to start up their own business.

Odense Kommune has a program called Entrepreneur Booster: A program designed to support entrepreneurship and new businesses, which is hosted by “Stjerneskibet”. Please note that the program is in English, so all internationals in Denmark can participate.

The Entrepreneur Booster is a program designed to support and qualify the establishment of new enterprises. The program provides you with a network of other entrepreneurs and new enterprises – that often turns out to constitute your first customers or business partners.

Participation fee: 870 DKR including VAT and refreshments. The program is scheduled to run over 6 evenings, each with a duration of 3.5 hours (in total 21 hours).

About the program

Odense Startup is an initiative to boost the starting of new enterprises. Odense Startup offers a wide range of services. Their expertise includes the providing of services e.g.: Entrepreneur counselling, courses, workshops and facilitating constructive collaboration with the local established business community.

You can find more information about our services, and here you can also sign up to participate in the program: www.odense.dk/startup.

Statement from two entrepreneurs

Here you can read a comment from two entrepreneurs, who have started their own business:

“The best thing about having your own business is that there really are no restrictions. We are free to apply grand scale thinking. If we have a great idea, we go with it – without first restricting ourselves to conventional marketability considerations. This means that it is possible for us to be first-movers in the market, based on detection and realization of new trends and ideas. The unrestricted approach is accompanied by another major advantage as it promotes an open and entrepreneurial spirit: “Everything is potentially an option”.”.
