Rikke Hellum (link to Pure profile) is Bachelor of Physiotherapy with a master’s degree in public health (Cand.scient.san.publ.). Her thesis was written in cooperation with UCAR. Afterwards, she was employed as a part-time research assistant at the unit contemporary with an employment at the Department for the Study of Culture. It was educational and a good cooperation between the institutions was build. At the moment, she is working on her Ph.d. dissertation called CRAFT. It is a project with the aim of helping relatives to people with an alcohol problem. “The exciting part of working with alcohol research is that alcohol both play a part in biology, culture, and lifestyle. Concurrent, alcohol abuse has a great impact for both the drinking part and the relatives and surroundings. Therefore, I feel I can make a difference in this area”, Rikke says.
