The Elderly Study

The Elderly Study examines the quality of self-reported data concerning alcohol consumption among patients aged 60 years or older and who are enrolled in alcohol treatment.

Through analysis of hair samples from the patients we examine if patients provide accurate information about their alcohol consumption in the months leading up to the hair sampling. Also, we examine if there are any special characteristics of the patients, who does not provide accurate information about their alcohol consumption. Likewise we examine whether this group of patients have a worse effect of alcohol treatment than the group of patients, who provide accurate information about their alcohol consumption.
