For many years the Department of Forensic Medicine has collaborated with the Danish Armed Forces Health Services in order to provide practical routine to the Armed Forces' dentists with an interest in forensic dentistry.
Formerly, the Department had its own Forensic Dentists, but after their retirement, the collaboration with the Armed Forces Health Services expanded and was formalised. Since 1st april 2013 the Armed Forces Health Services (Forsvarstandplejen) has therefore taken over the services of forensic dentistry for the department in connection with identification cases and other tasks that needs to be dealt with by experienced and trained forensic dentists.
