Department of Economics

Through our study programmes we train the next generation of economists and decisionmakers.

The department offers research-based teaching within economics, econometrics and data science. We educate candidates for public as well as private businesses and have a strong tradition for high-quality teaching that incorporates pedagogical tools and IT. The teaching activities at the department are organized within our four research platforms.

We teach at SDU’s campuses in Odense, Slagelse and Sønderborg, where the department’s core programmes are Economics, Mathematics-Economics, Business Economics and Data Science.

Studying Economics at SDU

Our courses and study programmes in economics provide students with an extensive set of skills and competences. These competences include state-of-the-art economics, but also an interdisciplinary ability to learn from related disciplines and to understand societal trade-offs. A degree in economics  will enable students to advise policy-makers and provide them with the communicative skills required to explain their analyses to stakeholders.
