About the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute
The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute is an internationally recognized research department, which has maintained a leading position in robotics for more than three decades.
The department is the origin of robotics research in Denmark, and has spawned a cluster of robotics in Southern Denmark with more than 100 robotics companies, including Universal Robots (UR) and Mobile Industrial Robots (MIR). Building on our expertise in robotics and software, we have raised strong research centres in related domains, such as Health Informatics and Energy Informatics, and in recent years also put the department in the lead of drone research.
The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute was established in 1997 as part of the Faculty of Science of University of Southern Denmark. In 1999, the Institute moved into new premises donated by the A.P. Møller and Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Foundation.
