Praise for Innovation and Business at alumni seminar

A large group of graduates and current students participated in the first alumni event for the MSc engineering program Innovation and Business. Representatives from industry emphasized the graduates' ability to communicate and navigate in companies.

-Innovation and Business engineers have a talent for communication in that they are able to create an understanding for the organization but also for the technical area. They are adept in navigating in the company and in building up networks very fast. So was the message from several different representatives from industry when more than 40 present and past students of Innovation and Business gathered for an alumni seminar, where the purpose was to make a current status on where graduates have made their careers to this point – as well as strengthening the ties to present and former fellow students.

Several I&B graduates presented their present career positions, which covered business developer to innovation engineer and researcher. In addition, there were contributions from industry by Kirsten Nielsen from Siemens Wind Power and Michael Jensen from Danfoss Silicon Power.

Bright future for graduates and study program

Just as there were many praises for the graduates and there competences, over the course of the evening many positive words were also added to the study program itself. Among other things, the guests talked thoroughly about the updated study program for both bachelor and master level. Many stressed the importance of making the technical courses visible, which they believe will increase the value of the graduates to industry.

With a positive atmosphere, the evening ended with great food and the sense among the guests that the study program Innovation and Business is very important for the technological future – it embraces and links together technology, innovation and sound business management.

The alumni seminar was initiated by Allan Larsen, MSc in Innovation and Business. Allan Larsen now works as Internal Project Manager at Siemens Wind Power.
