Materials

Ion-beam milled grooves in gold, used as V-grooves for advanced plasmonics. Helium-ion microscopy image.

Long-year experience covers the following materials:

  • Biomaterials *
  • Ceramics
  • Crystalline, polycrystalline and amorphous materials
  • Composites
  • Gases **
  • Metals
  • Nanomaterials
  • Non-conductive materials
  • Polymers
  • Smart materials
  • Wide bandgap materials

* A unique Helium ion microscope allows for nanoscale characterization of biomaterials. We collaborate with partners from biomedical research and imaging (e.g., Danish Molecular Biomedical Imaging Center (DaMBIC), Medizinisches Laserzentrum Lübeck GmbH (MLL)). This cooperation allows us to face a broad range of challenges of industrial importance.
** We also offer analysis of colloids or suspensions with Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and other spectroscopic methods.
