Biodemographic research

We study biodemography, the interdisciplinary field at the intersection of medicine, biology, evolution, mathematics, and demography. Although our focus is unitary, our research is highly interdisciplinary.

James W Vaupel

Our research is conducted in close cooperation with C-Pop | Interdisciplinary Centre on Population Dynamics at SDU and in collaboration with researchers from all over the world - especially from the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR) in Rostock.

Current Research Projects

Why do men die while women suffer?

"C-Pop collaborate to push the boundaries of our knowledge about the universality of the male-female health-survival paradox and the potential mechanisms underlying it."
