MIDT was carried out in the period from 2008-2011 and included middle-aged twins born from 1931-1969 that were not included in MADT, but priority was given to the oldest cohorts and pairs with both twins alive. MIDT and MADT 2008 shared with minor exceptions the same questionnaire and examinations. A total of 10,276 twins completed the questionnaire and/or the examinations – 10,111 twins completed both.
