MADT 1998/2008-2011

MADT was launched in 1998 and included middle-aged twins born from 1931-1952. From each birth year 240 twins were selected for participation. In total 4,314 twins completed the baseline assessments. In the period from 2008-2011 follow-up assessments were conducted. The study was initiated as a parallel to the LSADT for studying associations of mid-life health, lifestyle and functioning with late-life health and mortality. Data were collected through comprehensive questionnaires, and physical and cognitive examinations. Also, biological samples were collected.
