Back pain, physical activity and depression are linked but associations between the three have not been studied in a longitudinal perspective in the older population. In this study data from the Longitudinal Study of Ageing Danish Twins comprising interview-based information on around 5,000 Danish twins aged 70 and older are used to determine associations between physical activity, depression and back pain. In addition, the moderating effect of depression on the relationship between back pain and physical activity will be determined.
