(Trans)formation of kinship—Making parents in the Danish fertility Clinic.
By Tine Tjørnhøj-Thomsen
Limited knowledge exists about the clinical actors as professional kinship-makers. The aim of the project is to explore how the practitioners at two Danish private fertility clinics talk about, perceive, and do their work in light of new legislations, technological developments, increased commercialization and transnational movements of fertility patients, treatments, and technologies. What are their concerns, commitments and ethical standpoint, and how do the reproductive consumers and the market mechanisms influence their daily work?
