CPR Number/Medical Insurance
No matter your country of origin, you need to obtain a CPR-number (social security number). You need this number to be covered by the Danish Healthcare System, open a bank account, etc. When arriving in Denmark, you will be guided through the steps of getting a CPR-number. If you arrive the week before classes begin, please arrange a meeting with Luna Larsen, so she can help you start the process as soon as possible. After consulting Luna, you need to go to an International Citizen Service Centre as soon as possible to have a CPR number and residence card issued.
Remember to take out a travel insurance to cover your journey to Odense, as well as the time before you are covered by your Danish social security. We recommend getting a one-month travel insurance. Also, you need insurance to cover your journey back to your home country after your stay in Denmark.
