In the years 2008-2018 the University of Southern Denmark offered a guest professorship at the Centre for Contemporary Middle East Studies. The professorship gave internationally renowned scholars the opportunity to teach and research at the Centre for a period of up to one year. With this guest professorship, the university wanted to contribute to the internationalization of teaching and research in Denmark. The appointment of guest professors took place through collaborative efforts among the administrative bodies of the Center for Contemporary Middle East Studies, the Department of History, and the Faculty of Humanities. In fall 2018 the Faculty of Humanities decided due to financial restrictions to keep the position vacant in the coming years.
