Research

The Centre for Border Region Studies (CBRS) is a cross-faculty research unit with scholars from different disciplines from the Social Sciences and the Humanities. The Centre has an interdisciplinary approach to the study of historic and contemporary border regions in Europe. It is located at the campus Alsion in Sønderborg, Denmark.  

The Centre for Border Region Studies focuses on four main research areas:

Changing Role and Function of Borders and Border Regions
Contemporary European Border Regions: Conflicts and Cooperation
The role of (Border) Regions and the EU
Minorities in European Border Regions
