The Education Committee advises and gives recommendations to the Dean, Vice Deans, and Heads of Departments in matters regarding education. Within the scope of its mandate, the Education Committee initiates, supports, and monitors education-oriented activities at the Faculty. Through these activities, the Committee refers to the Faculty’s Strategic Key Initiative 1 which is also connected to other key initiatives. The above does not in any way preclude decentralized activities and initiatives.
The Education Committee works across academic study boards and departments. Its primary focus is on educational activities at the faculty level. In exceptional cases, the committee may bring forth matters relating to specific programmes in dialogue with departments, academic study boards, and Heads of Studies.
The Education Committee makes recommendations for proposals regarding the prioritization of educational strategic measures.
The committee is responsible for:
- Developing a clear pedagogical profile with focus on student involvement, practice orientation, and business relevance
- Developing principles for research-based education and talent programmes
- Collaborating with the SDU Centre for Teaching and Learning to develop ideas to increase student and teacher engagement in the programmes
- Ensuring academic, pedagogical quality, and societal relevance across programmes and campuses by following up on programme reports
