The Faculty of Science usually has a high rate of applications in connection with the Danish Council for Independent Research’s autumn call for proposals, meaning that many researchers request support from Support Office, Science almost simultaneously.
Therefore, we kindly ask researchers that plan to apply to any of the coming calls from the Danish Council for Independent Research to advise SOS soonest possible in case application and/or CV guidance is required.
For budget assistance only, SOS must be contacted no later than 10 working days prior to deadline, and preferably earlier than this.
The Danish Council for Independent Research (DFF)Calls for funding DFF opportunities during autumn 2014:
o Individual Postdoc grant (no max. amount limit)
o Sapre Aude – Starting grant/forskningsleder (max 4,9 mio.DKK excl. OH)

The company offers collaboration and supports projects with 5-15 million Yen/year for max. 5 years in research areas such as novel target molecules for drug discovery to treat obesity or non steatohepatitis, serious bacterial-/fungal-infectious diseases or emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, analytical methods and biomarkers to maximize clinical efficacy of therapeutic cancer peptide vaccines, drug discovery to treat cancer etc.

Villum FoundationCall open for funding opportunities for individuelle postdoc scholarships. Grants will be awarded for young researchers within the technical and scientific research for the continuation of research after obtaining a PhD degree. Grants include a mobility requirement.
Only Danish citizens can apply.

The Carlsberg FoundationThe Carlsberg Foundation supports basic research within the natural sciences, the humanities and the social sciences.
o Postdoc grants – abroad for min. 6 months (salary)

Strategic cooperation between Griffith University, Australia and University of Southern DenmarkResearchers from each institution have the possibility to apply for seed money for joint projects such as research projects, papers or grant applications, etc.

The Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Committee for Medical and Natural Science ResearchCalls for grant proposals for research projects in Denmark, within the fields of clinical and basic biomedical research.
Grants are available for equipment, consumables including experimental animals and salaries for scientific and technical assistance as well as research year students. You cannot apply for own salary, salary for PhD students or overhead. The requested funding must be between 300.000 and 700.000 DKK per year for a period up to 3 years.

The Lundbeck Foundation
Grants within Biomedicine and Health Science
- PhD stipend (applicant must be one of the responsible mentors, PhD student to be as co-applicant).
- Postdoc Fellowship in Denmark (independent research project or part of a bigger program)
- International Postdoc projects (only for projects taking place outside DK)
- Running costs (for supplemental running costs for research projects, where all costs for salaries have been covered already)

European Research Council grants (ERC)
Three ERC frontier research grants will be available under Work Programme 2015: Starting; Consolidator; and Advanced Grants, with the following expected deadlines:
ERC-2015-StG/Starting Grants. Supports top researchers with 2-7 years of experience from their PhD.
ERC-2015-CoG/Consolidator Grants. Support top researchers with 7-12 years of experience form their PhD.
ERC-2015-AdG/Advanced Grants. Open to excellent, established researchers who have a recent research track record which identifies them as leaders in their research fields.
