Novo Nordisk Fonden

NNF laureate research grants

This is a grant program for leading scientists to come to Denmark to build their visionary research programs within biomedicine and biotechnology. The researcher may apply for a grant of up to DKK 40M for a period of 7 years. After the first 5 years, the researcher may apply for an extension of 7 more years.

Exploratory pre-seed grants

The program is a stimulus fund established to accelerate commercialization of biomedical research findings and development of novel technologies, drug candidates, devices and diagnostics in the life science area. Grants can support activities costing from DKK 100,000 to DKK 500,000 during a grant period of 4-12 months.

Novo Nordisk Fonden 

Endocrinological research and experimental physiology - Nordic Countries

Funding is available for basic and clinical research in endocrinology and experimental physiology. Grants are not available for applications concerning cancer research. Researchers in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden may apply. The researcher selected by the committee will be invited to submit a five-year research program with regard to receiving a grant of DKK 10 million in portions of 2 million Danish kroner yearly for 5 years.

Fabrikant Mads Clausens Fond

Fabrikant Mads Clausens Fond is a general charitable foundation that can support the following:
- Purchasing of equipment for use in education and science (favorably in relation to Danfoss’ products, production or employees)
- stimulation of interest in science among children and young people
- equipment for medical treatment

The foundation supports projects one time only, and the support is mainly given to projects that can make a difference for many people. The grants usually amounts to more than 25.000 DKK, however rarely more than 100.000 DKK. The foundation does not support medical research, private individuals, travel and subsistence expenses, conferences, salaries, small investments, and long-term research projects.

Fabrikant Mads Clausens Fond has agreed with SDU that employees and students at SDU shall send in their applications via Juridisk Kontor, Ledelsessekretariatet at SDU. Applications for support to study trips shall, however, be sent directly to the foundation.

The Danish Council for Independent Research

MOBILEX mobility grant – a new mobility programme from DFF

This week the Danish Council for Independent Research opened a new mobility programme called MOBILEX mobility grant. The MOBILEX mobility grant is aimed at both Danish and international researchers, and the programme is launched with financial support from the FP7.
The applicants need to fulfill two conditions: The PhD degree must be completed before the application deadline, and the applicant must not have stayed for more than 12 months in the country of the host institution during the last three years.
The grants are offered for 24 months, and will amount to maximum 2.5 million DKK, including overhead. Twenty-six mobility grants will be offered in 2013.

Research Fellowships

Supports research in medical and pharmaceutical sciences and related sciences at academic research institution abroad: travel grant for maximum three years. Travel expenses for accompanying family members are also covered.
