All permanent university teachers in the Faculty of Humanities must be in possession of a teaching portfolio.
The aim is to ensure the quality of teaching by providing support for the continuing development of the teaching skills of each university teacher. You are also referred to the University of Southern Denmark’s sub-policy for higher education pedagogy and the development of teaching skills, which states that an employee involved with teaching shall have prepared an updated teaching portfolio.
The teaching portfolio shall be regarded as a tool to be used for the individual employee’s development of teaching skills. The portfolio shall therefore be included in the performance and development review, where the action plan it contains shall be discussed and adjusted.Content of the teaching portfolio
The Memo regarding implementation of a teaching portfolio describes the requirements for the teaching portfolio and elements of the teaching portfolio.
A teaching portfolio shall comprise three parts:
- A teaching CV
- Reflective practice description
- Action plan for development of teaching skills
The Memo regarding implementation of a teaching portfolio contains more detailed advice and instructions, including details of what to include and the time period the teaching CV shall cover.

Publication of the teaching portfolio
It is a requirement of the quality policy (indicator 188.8.131.52) that selected parts of the teaching portfolio are published.
Permanent university teachers in the Faculty of Humanities shall publish their teaching CV on PURE – i.e. part 1 of the teaching portfolio. In practice, this is achieved by the individual university teacher preparing a teaching CV under the "Curriculum vitae” tac, cf. this guidance.
