The possibilities are numerous in Kolding. If you are looking for culture, art and experiences, you should go and see the Castle of Koldinghus or the Museum of Trapholt, and if you prefer rural surroundings, Kolding is situated in one of Denmark’s most beautiful areas – close to the water, forests and beaches.
Kolding is both a university city and a business city and is easily accessed from the motorway, the bus station and the railway station. And Billund Airport is only half an hour’s drive away.
The municipality of Kolding offers educational possibilities to all ages – ranging from the smallest children in the municipal primary and secondary schools through upper secondary education programmes to higher education programmes. Furthermore, there is a rich selection of other education programmes for you to participate in, for example through adult education associations, language schools and the public university (Folkeuniversitetet (in Danish)).
Kolding is the choice for many when it comes to place to study. There are numerous educations to choose from. A total of 3,000 students have chosen to enroll in a higher education in Kolding, whereof approximately 2,000 students are enrolled in the University of Southern Denmark. It is fairly easy to find a place to live, as the city has over 800 youth housings centrally located in relation to the educational institutions, and there is a wide cultural selection and an active study environment.

Sports and culture
If you like sports, almost every discipline is available in Kolding.
The cultural selection of Kolding municipality can be found at the ”Klostergården” which is located in the centre of the city and which previously was a chocolate factory. Students from the higher education programmes meet here on a regular basis for parties and other events, and most recently the co-operation resulted in a student house previously called “Klosteret” (the convent). Today, Kolding Student Community runs the student house.
Every year, in co-operation with the higher education institutions, the municipality of Kolding arranges an event for the students in connection with the start of the academic year, which gives them the opportunity to see the city and its attractions. The day ends at the music venue Godset where there will be a concert with a famous band or singer.
