Political agreement on partial reopening of research laboratories for researchers and students
The reopening of Denmark has taken yet another step after the government and the parliamentary parties on 17 April 2020 agreed on further opening of various sectors in Denmark.
The agreement, which includes the opening of certain liberal professions and the judicial system, also includes a tentative reopening of the university sector:
‘A partial reopening of research laboratories for researchers and students will be carried out, allowing them to continue and complete their postdoc or PhD programmes as well as continue research experiments and research projects that would otherwise be lost.’ (Prime Minister's press release, 17 April, http://stm.dk/_p_14942.html (in Danish))
SDU's management is currently awaiting further dialogue between the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and the universities regarding the precise scope of the agreement.
We will publish further information on SDU's reopening plan once the practicalities of this reopening have been clarified.
