The FELIS-project’s focus on community health is primarily based on the disadvantaged residential areas that exist to varying degrees in every municipality. These residential areas are characterized by poverty, high rates of unemployment and exclusion from the surrounding society. They are further characterized by widespread social problems and have a significant preponderance of ethnic minorities. But these disadvantaged areas also have the potential to change and to make important contributions to society. There are good housings in the green surroundings and especially a thriving youth.
