Head of Department Michael Goodsite is to become the new Executive Vice President for Regional Development at the Region of Southern Denmark.

Professor Michael Goodsite will leave his post as Head of Department of the Institute of Technology and Innovation when he becomes the new Executive Vice President of Regional Development at the Region of Southern Denmark on 1st March.

- I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you for the fantastic work Michael Goodsite has delivered. He has made a great contribution, not just as Head of ITI but also in his always constructive collaborations with the other management groups at the Faculty of Engineering. I wish him many congratulations and look forward to maintaining a close working relationship in the future, says Dean Henrik Bindslev.

Professor Michael Goodsite has been Head of Department at the Institute of Technology and Innovation since 1st June 2014. He came to the University of Southern Denmark from a position as Head of Department at the Department of Business Development and Technology (formerly AU Herning).

- The Faculty of Engineering is a wonderful place. I graduated from here with an MSc which created the basis for my career in Denmark. It is here where I have felt myself to be at home. It has been a pleasure to collaborate with you and it has been an honour to be Head of ITI. I will miss you all, says Michael Goodsite.

He is looking forward to tackling the exciting challenges that await when he steps out of the university world and into a more political arena.

- As Development Manager I will have some of the overall responsibility for creating the right framework for growth and development in the Region of Southern Denmark and making the region an even better place to live - both for people and businesses.

Michael Goodsite's last day as Head of Department will be 26th February. Dean Henrik Bindslev will then become acting Head of Department.
