Research Unit of General Practice

We carry out research and research guidance within general medical practices and health services.

One of our main activities is the training of  PhD students.

We teach on a range of health professional studies at University of Southern Denmark. We are responsible for the research training programme for GP trainees.  

Our research focuses on:

Cancer rehabilitation

Organisation of general practice

Symptoms, healthcare-seeking and diagnosis

Chronic diseases

Medical risk analysis and medical risk communication

Relationships in general practice 

The Research Unit of General Practices is established as a cooperation between University of Southern Denmark and an external research unit financed by the Reseach Foundation of General Practice.

Audit Projekt Odense (APO) and the affiliated EU project HAPPY Audit is also part of the Research Unit’s activities.

The Region of Southern Denmark has based the Practice Liaison Program and the Quality Development Consulting in proximity to the Research Unit of General Practice. Also the Danish General Practice Database under DAK-E and a University Medical Practice are housed within the building.
